Joe was admitted into the Manchester Royal Infirmary on 15th June to have an Hickman line inserted in his chest which will aid the administration of treatments he will receive during his stay in hospital.
Joe was allowed to leave hospital and return on June 20th for an intensive session of chemotheraphy leading up to His bone marrow transplant on June 29th.
"Joe's Re-cooperation will be between four and six weeks with the first week or so staying in the isolation unit until His condition is stabilised by the various drugs to counteract the possible donor/host rejection" said Zeb White, Joe's Tour Manager. "Joe is remarkable, he is showing no signs of nervousness and just wants to get on with it now. He has been given his own compact room with air conditioning thankfully as it looks like summer is finally trying to arrive even in Manchester."
When Joe's condition is stable he will be moved onto the general ward for the remaining weeks until discharged.
For anyone who would like to send Joe a get well card or one's well wishes he is situated on:
Ward 27,
Manchester Royal Infirmary,
Oxford Road,
Manchester,
M13 9WL.
Please note, flowers, plants and even fruit are not permitted in the ward for fear of allergies and disease. Zeb has also asked that fans do not attempt to telephone the ward. Joe promises to record several messages of his own during his stay in hospital.
