The Variety Club is recognised internationally for its high profile gala dinners and events to raise funds for children.
Over the years a number of events have been organised by the charity to celebrate the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups from the world of show business.
These events are very high profile attended by stars from the world of entertainment, dignitaries, the media and major corporate organisations.
Past recipients include Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Michael Caine, Roger Moore, Sir Cliff Richard and Daniel O'Donnell.
The format of this gala dinner is based along the lines of a high calibre showbusiness awards event, where guests enjoy a gourmet meal in a relaxing, environment, in the presence of many celebrities.
The tribute to Joe takes place at the Palace Hotel, Oxford Street, Manchester, on Saturday June 2.
Guests from different areas of show business will attend and the evening includes guest speakers, video messages, and footage from Joe's career.
